Tin Aung Htaik

In 1943, U Tin Aung Htaik, a well-known artist in Myanmar, was born in the city of Monywa. In the 1960s, he enrolled in the Mandalay State School of Fine Arts, where he studied under U Kan Nyunt, U Aye Kyaw, U Chit Mye, and U Lu Tin. At the Command and General Staff College in Bahtoo Township, Shan State, he later attained to the position of art master.

He left the War Museum and Defense Services Historical Research Institute in 1995 as an artist. He created a significant number of paintings, took part in more than 100 group exhibitions, and staged 11 solo exhibitions. His preferred medium was watercolor, therefore that’s what he painted the most of the time.
